Join the Arts & Ecology Initiative at Stone Barns Center for a workshop featuring Guest Artist Anne-Marie Kavulla from Pirtti Studios. A textile artist and botanical dyer, Anne-Marie creates work focused on circularity and natural materials. With the summer gardens at Stone Barns Center at peak bloom, this is the perfect time for dye projects that celebrate specialty botanical varieties.
Anne-Marie will be joined by Stone Barns Center Horticulturalist Laura Perkins and Arts & Ecology Textile Artist Glynis Cotton to guide you as you explore the gardens, harvest materials and experiment with dyeing techniques.
Using the harvested dye materials, each participant will create a unique botanical print on an organic cotton bandana. While your botanically dyed bandanas steam, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch from our Chef in Residence Jonathan Tam.
