Join us at the farm for a socially distanced event exploring the ecological, culinary and aesthetic roles of sheep in agriculture and cuisine. Through either a culinary arts or a fiber arts track, guests will engage in demonstrations and discussions with farmers, chefs and artisans during the annual process of shearing sheep for the warm season. All attendees will begin the day with an introduction to Stone Barns Center Livestock, Meat Processing and Fiber Arts initiatives followed by a conversation on the spring ecology of sheep and wool with Sheep Shearer Aaron Loux and the Stone Barns livestock team.
Tickets include Spring Festival Box Lunch and Sweet Treats by Blue Hill at Stone Barns as well as a complimentary pass to our virtual Explore: Sheep Evening Conversations with Fiber Arts and Livestock Visionaries on April 21 and April 28.
