2018 Keynote: Davon Goodwin

Keynote: Davon Goodwin

Davon grew up in Pittsburgh. After high school he attended the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where he graduated with a B.S. in Biology with a concentration in Botany. While in college Davon enlisted in the Army Reserve; he served a tour of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan and earned a purple heart after he was wounded by an IED (improvised explosive device).

Davon is now the owner and operator of Off The Land Farms, where he grows muscadine grapes and heritage breed livestock with a mission to build a culture of community while stewarding the environment and providing access to high-quality local food. Davon is a 2017 Stone Barns Center Exchange Fellow and is on the Board of Directors of the National Young Farmers Coalition and the North Carolina SARE Advisory Committee.
