Catherine Kelley is the Director of Communications & Content at Stone Barns Center. In this role, she oversees all communications, marketing and content strategy for the organization, with the goal of broadening awareness of the Stone Barns mission as well as advancing fundraising, education and institutional objectives.
Catherine has led communications, program, development and editorial teams in both the nonprofit and media sectors. She began her career as a journalist and editor, rising to executive positions at such major media companies as Condé Nast, Hearst and Dow Jones. She was for nine years the Executive Editor of O, The Oprah Magazine and subsequently the Executive Director of Content Development at Condé Nast, creating a wide range of print and digital products with such brands as Gourmet, Bon Appétit, Vanity Fair, Vogue and The New Yorker. Before coming to Stone Barns, she shifted to nonprofit leadership positions at The Natural Resources Defense Council and Yaddo, the country’s preeminent artist residency program, where she was Vice President of Branding & Strategic Initiatives. Catherine holds a B.A. in English Literature from Dartmouth College.
