Isabel Hoyos

Isabel Hoyos grew up in Medellin, Colombia, visiting her grandparents’ cattle ranch and learning to love to cook from her mother. As a child, she co-founded an “Ecology Club” at her elementary school, then went on to earn degrees in Environmental Science and Environmental Policy from Loyola University Chicago. Stone Barns Center is at the intersection of all the things she cares about: food, agriculture, and environmental stewardship. She first joined the team as a summer research intern in 2020, then as Education Coordinator in 2021.

On the side: Isabel likes sampling hobbies as a hobby. Find her learning a craft, trying out a new workout, or binge-reading an author she just discovered.
