Lydia Hermann is the Executive Administrative Coordinator at Stone Barns Center. The granddaughter of a farmer, she grew up on a small hobby farm in Georgia, and her passion for land stewardship was ignited when she spent a summer living off the grid on a permaculture farm. Lydia volunteered in the field and greenhouse at Stone Barns during the 2018 and 2019 seasons, and while she is most at home with her hands in the soil, she is eager to explore the nonprofit side of the organization.
Previously, she spent nearly ten years working as a nanny in New York City and five years in book publishing, where she worked with New York Times bestselling and award-winning authors such as Johann Hari, Brittany Barnett, and President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
On the side, she is always trying to whittle down the stack of books at her bedside. She finds her central calling and deepest joy in discovering the world through the eyes of her young son.
