Sonja Toulouse-Martin is Stone Barns Center’s Director of Human Resources, responsible for talent recruitment and employee relations. Previously, she served as director of human resources for Blue Hill and before that director of operations for Matter House, and was instrumental in the opening of Thomas Carter and Ignacio Mattos’ Flora Bar and Café Altro Paradiso restaurants. She also spent a decade as a communications and special projects lead at Alain Ducasse Entreprise, overseeing North American restaurants for the celebrated French chef.
Sonja believes that working in the food space has taught her the meaning of true generosity and authenticity through eating traditions and people, and that giving employees the tools to thrive leads to a healthy business with inspired employees.
